LinuxCon and MeeGo Review

We had some great MeeGo activities and sessions at LinuxCon North America in Boston last week. Many people who are participating in the MeeGo community were at LinuxCon, and there were also plenty of other people who haven't been involved, but were interested in learning more about MeeGo.

MeeGo Community Update and Metrics for July

July was a relatively quiet month for the MeeGo community, which is to be expected. All communities tend to slow down in July and August, and there were no big project announcements in July, since many of the contributors were on holiday / vacation. Despite the slightly slow summer month, we still had relatively strong participation in the project.

The call for session proposals has started, and anyone who wants to speak at the conference must submit a proposal. Proposals from community members, Intel, Nokia, the Linux Foundation and others will all be given equal consideration.

MeeGo for IVI V1.0 Announcement

We are pleased to present this 1.0 release of MeeGo for IVI. As part of this release, we are including a sample IVI Home Screen and taskbar, using the included Qt framework, and designed with Automotive Center Console HMI requirements in mind. We have also included some automotive specific middleware components and a few sample applications, including sample navigation program (Navit) and a sample dialer application (BT-HFP Dialer) which uses Bluetooth and a paired phone.
